Introducing: The 10-Minute Blog (TMB)

[rt_reading_time label="Reading Time:" postfix="minutes" postfix_singular="minute"] Last month, as part of my networking trip to Munich, I was lucky enough to go on some 30 blind dates with the women of GDW's Digital Female Leadership Awards. On a sunny afternoon, I met with Maren Martschenko, a digital media veteran and consultant, entrepreneur, founder of Munich's popular and well-respected Digital Media Women network and mom, at a deli in Schwabing.  She arrived on her bike and joined me, sitting at a sidewalk café table.Maren & CarolineWe immediately discovered we have a lot in common as our conversation weaved in and out of some super interesting topics: goal setting, simplifying, leadership & women in leadership, digitization in the corporate world, and triathlon: she recently competed in the Olympic distance triathlon!  Swim, bike, run stories ensued. And we both write.  We both have a blog.  We both know that our voice have the ability to inspire people.  We talk about expressing ourselves in written words, about the power of language, about using our writing to foster our creativity, and about the satisfaction we get from sharing ourselves in such a vulnerable way.Maren tells me that she has been exercising her creative muscles with this thing called the 10-minute blog.  For my German audience, you can check out her blog here.  The concept is simple: pick a topic, write about it for 10 minutes and publish.  That's it.She has been experimenting with this technique in a disciplined fashion for 30 days.  She offers that this practice and commitment has allowed her to truly write from the heart.I am both intrigued and fascinated.  See, I don't have a quite as disciplined content production calendar: I write stories when inspiration strikes me, when I feel like I have a fun or interesting tale to tell and when I have time - it literally takes me hours to craft and curate what I publish on The Voices Collection.art-city-clock-277458"We aren't inspiring anyone if we aren't writing", Maren reminds me.She is so right.I am curious to find out what could happen if I, too, took just 10 minutes to write from the heart.I have 10 minutes....So I am giving this 10-minute blog concept a try.My commitment: every week, on Friday, I'll spend 10 minutes writing.  I'll post what comes out and label it TMB.I am eager for topic ideas and feedback.  Let me know.
