for a living: a breakfast bit
“How’d you get into that?”, she asked, looking intrigued after almost making me cry with her public educator stories. Thank you for your service, honey.
I didn’t have a chance to answer before her breakfast partner finally joined her at the counter.
Whoa crisis averted!
I left her my card. Invited her to call me to keep it going.

She had just asked me: “What about you, what do you do for a living?”
Ugh, that small talk question. Not gonna lie, I dread it. All these years, still!
For me, it’s the feeling of needing to be confined by it. In one title. And a half-minute.
The way I see it, I do a LOT of things for a living.
But I’m new here. And I’m trying all the bits.
The game I often play to get over it: simply called who am I gonna be, today?
What else would they call it anyway?! I went for it.
“I’m an entrepreneur!”, I answered, enthusiastically.

24 hours later, I’m delighted to report I have a bit, for how I got into it:
I’m one of those wild ducks, I go for different things.
I’ve just become really good at trading ideas for money.
My name is Caroline. Call me!
