S3/E38: Is Immediacy in Communications Necessary?

Overwhelmed with all the Communications Channels...

I'm feeling a certain kind of way about the demands of all my communications channels... Overwhelmed mostly, and wondering: do I really have to respond?  Do I want to be the girl that is always responsive or do I want to become someone who is less responsive?Meaghan helps me with prioritization and boundary setting to reclaim my time:

  1. Income-generating activities demand immediate responses
    • Incorporate office hours / office hours to communicate expectations with people who expect responses from us
  2. Close friend and family
  3. Entertainment, when time allows!

To not look like a rude-ass-bitch to my non-iWatch sensitized friends, I've also updated my wrist notifications and am getting in the practice of putting on DND when I am meeting with someone...I am exploring the kind of communicator I am, evaluating my energy management in the context of my communications, and also practicing "detachment with love" for those energy investments that don't generate a positive return on investment.Shout out also to my brother Julien for teaching me how to communicate in a circle of really important people, and on Twitter.  I know how you work Bou and you inspire me with it.  Je t'aime. Finally, I'm taking control of how I want to be communicated to.Here are the best ways to reach me:

  1. For business: email and LinkedIn
  2. Friend and family: text and WhatsApp
  3. Entertainment: Instagram
