For sure, you can count on me to celebrate birthdays , especially mine. 🫶🏼 And being loud, a bit maladroite but definitely funny and perhaps even provocative at times is totally on brand for me. I’m excited it’s my birthday!

I’m motivated for this day every single year. It’s a crescendo of energy I vividly feel and intentionally plan around. I specifically set goals for it: I set myself up to accomplish something I really care about riiiight around my birthday, every year. It’s like I run 2 calendars - there’s the calendar year, and then there is my birthday year (where I stay on the 22). It’s just how I’m wired.

I’m 49. And looking right at a brand new decade sneaking up ahead of me. This one’s a big deal!

Frankly put, I’m pumped for it. Maybe even proud to enter it… See I’m the first-born in my team of 4 AND in the entire extended family of grand-kids and great-grand kids. I’m the oldest: my 50’s gonna hit everybody in the family. So I lead by example and I’ve always been motivated by it. It’s a big part of who I am in life. It hits right at my core values. And these days, I’m feeling pretty good about my performance review in this line of work.

My relationship with actual work is also completely transforming. Nowadays, I only work on projects that really light me up, specifically those that are for the long road. Half are with clients, half are my own; this balance I really wanted to find in my career, it really works for me. What I didn’t expect to find was a vision wilder than ever before, and a pipeline to boot! Turns out that in a world where 64% of Americans report their workplace as “toxic”, I’m actually in love, at work. ❣️

So watch out to my 50th revolution, I’m coming in hot! I’m feeling it and I’m gonna celebrate it! Single, no kids & no cats either. 🔥
