2020: More Writing

[rt_reading_time label="Reading Time:" postfix="minutes" postfix_singular="minute"]

I need to write for The Voices more. It's a 2020 goal. Writing for myself. And for the 2 or 3 fans who read everything I write: you know who you are. Thank you.

All I've been doing is writing for work. For audience of 170-ish, to whom I mostly send emails that many are actually reading. For a smaller audience, mostly about the business of consulting in the digital age, also in email or in Keynote decks. Consulting business-type communications really haven't changed that much in the last 18 months since I have been out of the corporate game.

I could go on a whole tangent about these topics that fascinate me, but that's not the point of this post.

It's about being reconnected to my original intent for writing: to let the crazy out.

What I write at work is really fulfilling. But it's sucking up all of my creative energy, requiring most of my emotional intelligence capacity and takes a lot of time.

In that professional context, I constantly need to find the right delivery, the right message, the right intention, the right way to put my voice out in the universe. Focus.

But it's here, on The Voices Collection, a symbol of my "sabbatical turned entrepreneurial period" (STEP!) that I am free to say whatever the fuck I feel like in whichever way I feel like it. It's liberating.

Plus, it honors that step in my life by continuing the tradition.

I need to do more of that.

Besides, to be a writer, one has to write.
