E66: My First Month @ Slalom DC

The First Update About My New Job

I answer the question I've been getting a lot lately: "How's the new job?!"

This episode is about integrating my new job into my life, the beauty of the flexibility and collaboration of the Slalom culture, getting used to my new beat, working in an open space, solutioning as a team, pitching and winning on day 8.

We get to some of the challenges too, specifically about the expectations I had joining this special culture. Coming from a command and control place I deliberately left, I had assumed swinging the pendulum to the other side would be a slam dunk for me. I am a culture maker after all! I underestimated the cognitive load this space of transformation has brought to me in this transition period.

So I'm cultivating my learning journey and growth spirit, listen intently, being patient, observing and waiting for my turn. While making sure to not lose track of myself and my personal goals in the process.

Mad shout out to my Slalom mentor and one of the hosts of the Slalom On Air Podcast, Brian Ladyman.

Added bonus: Meaghan puts it on thick with the ski jokes and drops some incredible knowledge bombs on me, as usual.

Wanna work with me? You know where to find us.
